About the Author

Allen ladd was born and raised on 110 th Street between Edbrooke and Indiana, Chicago, Illinois. His grandma would ultimately end up bearing the burden of taking care of him. Quite frankly, most of what’s good about him came from her. The rest well between his environment and the struggles of his parents that were determining factors to what he’d become. But growing up in one of the worst war zones in the world has given him experiences that would shape and mold his path, character, and, most importantly, his mind. Therefore, he’s truly grateful his eyes were able to witness the very harsh realities of life. His dad and mom both were street hustlers on different playing fields. His dad did most of his early and teen years in and out of prison. A lot of what he’d known about his father early on came from street tales of his many deeds. Before they actually got a chance to really get an understanding of each other, let the streets tell it that he was a walking split image of him, both looks and characteristics. His mom was swept away by what the eighties had to offer. But all in all, she did her best to provide for him. Some of the things his mom has overcome would mentally put the average woman in a nuthouse. She’d also find herself behind walls for some time. His aunt was also a very positive figure in his life. She showed him there was more to Chicago than just the drug-infested neighborhoods he was accustomed to. But the streets would become an outlet to all the madness and something to belong to. The environment would eventually lead him to what else but hustling and everything that came with it. When he was nineteen, he moved to Wisconsin and got a better understanding of life.
